Who are You Going to Pick?

Listen up to that video. A presenter talks about job hiring process, now you job is to write down a quick summary email to a friend of that video.
•             What is the main idea the presenter is talking about?
•             Name the two groups of people that she had mentioned.
•             What are the differences between the two groups of people that the presenter referred to?
•             Which type are you? Give examples.
•             List at least two examples from the talk, and finally write one valuable insight to your friend that you took away from the talk.

Dear Ann,

I am writing this email because I'd like to share something that I took away from a presentation today. The presenter was a human resource director and told us why “the scrapper” was deserved to have an interview. Do you know what “the scrapper” and “the silver spoon” meaning are? Yes, they represent different classes. She mentioned that one third entrepreneurs are scrappers. The reason of success is the resilience of their character. She advised us to hire the underestimated contender, whose secret weapons are passion and purpose.

Best Regard,
Yucho

Option A: For the ones who joined us on Friday’s field trip, you need to write a quick trip report elaborating on these questions:
Give a quick description on the location of the field trip;
What were the reasons that you wanted to join this trip?
What impressed you the most?
What did not impress you?
Would you go to that place again? Why?
Share at least one thing that you have learned new from that experience.

Option B: For the ones who could not make it to the field trip, write a quick apologetic email for your teacher telling her why you could not join the class; what you have done on that day; and a quick “promise” to make yourself available for the rest of the class activities.

Dear Hala,
I am writing this email for apology the field trip I was absent. The reason is my body. I am frequent urination after I was suffered urinary infection the week before last week. My husband told me 9,30 am. it is the rush hour and it was raining. He'd like me to stay at home in stead of make trouble to the other people. So I took his advice. I am glad and admired you had had a wonderful time. I hope I can join nest time.
Best Regard
Yucho

Dear Hala,

I am writing this email to apologize for missing the field trip. The reason was because I was tired. I had frequent urination times after I had suffered urinary infection for the past two weeks. My husband me told at 9.30 am. that was rush hour and it was raining. He would like me to stay at home instead of causing troubles to the other people. So I took his advice. I am glad that you had a wonderful time. I hope I can join next time.

A White Lie
After I moved in Toronto, every weekend I need to talk with my parent on line. We share our life with each other and give some ideas to make our life smoothly. One day, my mom asked me if we had a plan to buy a house. I told her we wouldn't buy it because we are all the lazy people. Nobody likes to do the works such as to maintain the house, fix the roof, loan the grass...My mom looked at me and teased. " I know that is what I said, but it is not what I mean..." I didn't want to tell my mom the house's price in Toronto is ridiculous nowadays. " You don't know...nobody help me, I need to do everything by myself. If we have a house, I would die..." My mom interrupted me, " I know you don't like using our money. The matter is not what you say, it's how you say it."

I am a dinosaur. Only the magic sword of Wimble Bimble can stop me.” “Where is the magic sword of Wimble Bimble?” asked the girl. “It’s in a cave in the big mountain” shouted the boy. So the girl set off to find the sword. She went along the road, over the fence, across the field, over the fence, through the tunnel, around the farm, under the little bridge, over the big bridge, up the hill, down the hill, through the dark forest and into the cave. Good afternoon everyone,

Based on the story that was shared with you earlier regarding my experience with the restaurant manager’s rude remarks, write an email to the headquarters to complain about the manager’s attitude.

Make sure to include the following information:

Brief background on the scenario;
What your reaction was;
What the manager’s reaction was;
What you request for a disciplinary action or a fair way to solve that problem.

Hi, Peter Piter

I am sending this email for an experience I recently had with one of your restaurant manager. There appears to be something wrong with my dish I had ordered before. After a waitress opened my lobster dish plate, we were shocked because there was  nothing except shells. The manager refused to deal with that matter. I don't think he is working the way he is supposed to and I was belittled. I wonder that if you can help me about this issue.

Best regard

Yucho
