I got up early last morning because I should prepare to go to the AGO with my classmates. It was a very beautiful day. Mezi brought some fresh coffee with her big smile at subway. At the AGO, we saw the pictures which drew by William kurelek finally. The day before yesterday we've learned something about Bill Kurelek, his pictures were impressive. Through his pictures you might be figure out his energy, his soul, his complicated and angry. I didn't see his famous painting named the Maze. We visited all the building with Juseph, it was my second time to the AGO and there's still somewhere I've nerve been. We took some pictures around the building. I was excited and enjoyed it.

MY PRESENTATION

Please excuse me if I'm a little blue today. Earlier this week, our classmates Thomas, Han and Monique, they are leaving and I'm feeling kind of sad. You probably don't know them, but you might be lucky enough to know someone just likes them. Since last month I came here, they used to be my partner in the class and do me a lot of fever. They have sweet nature and gentle deposition. Especially Monique, she never absented herself from class even though she got pregnant and will give her baby birth this month. She comes here just want to learn and learn it superbly well, that is impressive to me. Now they are moving on to upper level class, I'm sincerely pleased for them, but that doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye to our friends.

Life has a way of throwing these curve balls at us just when we start to get comfortable with a person, a place or a situation. Something comes along to alter the recipe, such as your terrific neighbor moves away, your child graduates, your husband is laid off, your family immigrates and you have to separate with your parents...
But what should we do that? Last night my husband gave me four words --go with the flow. It likes surfing, you can't organize the ocean, waves just happen. We're always hoping for the perfect wave, but mostly you just take them the way they come. Life is a series of events. No matter how deft your organizational skill, there will be something out of your control. That is the reason we need improve ourselves because our ability to cope with change and disruption determines the degree of our happiness in life. Yesterday likes a mirror, you can look it but you can't enter it. We should focus on our hopes for a bright future, for us.
I'm going to miss my friends, like miss that neighbor, that graduate. I think I'll go out, I'll do everything and I can make that future happen.

What's the hardest job in the world? Maybe there are a lot of different answers by the different people. In my opinion, I think learning English is the hardest job for me. I used to study at the LINC after I was landed here. I knew it would be hard to find the job if you can't communicate with the local people. By the time my friend gave me a job in the Chinese restaurant, I quit the school because I need money to support my family. I thought I can learn English by myself since I lived in Canada. The fact is that I was wrong totally. After four years, I still can't speak anything just look like the newcomer. Struggling with myself some weeks, I decided to go back to LINC. At the school, students are forbidden to speak their original language and our teacher encourages us to give the presentation frequently.  I have been learning here for one month and I hope to improve my English level soon.

  3. Role play with a partner: Getting a Visa to Travel

  4. Write a report on our field trip this week.

Yesenia: I have a great idea. Let’s plan a big party for your mother’s 70th birthday. We’ll invite all of your relatives from all over the world.

Julian: I don’t think very many of them can afford to travel half way around the world for a party.

Yesenia: I’ve already spoken with your rich brother and he’s already offered to pay for your family’s airfare and hotel. If we plan it, he’ll pay for it.

Julian: Julio offered to do that? Well, if he’s on board then we can give it a shot. But here’s another hitch. My extended family lives in a lot of different countries and I’m not sure they’ll get visas to visit the U.S., especially on short notice.

Yesenia: Let’s try, anyway. Your cousins in Canada don’t need a visa because most Canadian citizens don’t need one to cross the border. What about your uncle in Korea?

Julian: He’s already in the U.S. on an exchange visitor visa until June. He should be able to come.

Yesenia: What about your aunt in Greece?

Julian: She won’t need a visa because Greece is one of the countries in the Visa Waiver Program.

Yesenia: Do you think your nephews in South Africa will want to come?

Julian: I’m not sure what the visa situation is there. We’ll have to check with the State Department.

Yesenia: I’ll get on the horn first thing in the morning to see what I can find out. I might email them and ask them to check with the embassy or consulate there to be sure. This party is really shaping up.

Julian: You seem to have it all under control.

Yesenia: Haven’t you always said that party planning is my middle name?
