Thursday's Assignment

In your country of origin, when do people tell their kids about the birds and the bees? How do
they do that? Is it mainly done in school or at home?
In China, we don't have the same idioms like "the birds and the bees". Most parents feel
embarrassed and don't like to talk about these thing with their children. They thought that is
responsible for the school. The students begin to learn the subject named "Hygienic of the
Physical "when they are at grade 5. The boys and the girls study it in the separate room.
Here are your tasks:
  1. Role play: Describing Bodies
  2. Read, think about, and discuss this report.
  3. In which grades is homophobia discussed in this document? Use Ctrl-F to find keywords.
    1. How is Canada's sex education compared to that in your country of origin?
    2. Discuss this with a partner from a different country. Take notes.
    3. Record on chirbit a group discussion about the similarities and differences as well as how you feel about what it should be like in Canada.
    4. Listen to another group's chirbit and leave a comment.
  4. Write a brief trip report about yesterday's Remembrance Day Service. When did you arrive, what did you see, who did you talk to, and how did you feel? Add pictures.
  5. Sign up for next Thursday's job fair.

2. In Canada, people could plan a rally to show their discontent. I used to see the teachers and the librarians to
form a human chain on the road when they were striking. The policemen were always on hand. No blood. No
crush. Everything was order and peaceful. I think it is enough.
The explanation of sexual reproduction. In old fashioned times people were embarrassed to discuss sex let alone tell children. So they used Mother nature as a metaphor to portray sex as a natural thing and not a crime punishable by eternal damnation.
"Now Philip, It's your fortieth birthday and I feel you are ready to know about the birds and the bees.."
be ogling at/  flabby gut in the bunch/  to objectify the opposite sex / six-packs and guns/  long, lean body
It’s demeaning / on behalf of all men out there/  It’s her personality I admire / You could’ve fooled me
